Christianity is proving triggering for me, so at my current time of life, I am questioning God. Alot.
and expecting a thunderbolt at any second...#traditionalchristianitybringsanxiety
QUESTIONS: Am i allowed to be humorous? Am I not meant to be “sorrow faced and solemn?” Is this your punishment for the thing with the apple? Is sarcasm allowed? I feel like, since adopting Christian spiritual practices and reading “the word” every day, I am becoming afraid of displeasing you, and I do not think that this is beneficial to our relationship…Am I wrong, God? I really would like to know.
I personally do not believe that God punishes. There is no need for punishment. There IS a consequence to every action… the laws of the universe(set up by God, very cleverly, to govern His creations*) dictate that.
It is karma at work. Not God’s judgment, and is punishment even necessary?
You are “punished” by karma (ie your own actions) not by God. God set the system up in a way that your actions will dictate your external environment.
FOR EXAMPLE: if you were to feed your body badly, it will begin to look unhealthy as a sign to YOU, who would benefit from a healthy body ,and if you make the effort of creating a healthy body, it will reward you by looking healthy, which is usually more pleasing to the eye than unhealthy.
The eyes show us Truth, we can chose to see or not.
It’s not about God threatening to punish us if we do not behave in the Christlike/ high vibrating way.
It is about us using the lessons of the universal laws to create better, more Christlike, versions of our Selves.
In this way, we come to God.
Jesus was trying to teach us how to move closer to an understanding of and connection to God. The universal laws show us, too.
God will not hate us if we fail to see these Truths. He would not doom us to burn in hellfire for all eternity. If you believe in a God that would do this then you are putting your faith in an incomplete version of God created by a patriarchal religion steeped in fear. Fear is the exact opposite to God and God has nothing to do with fear.
Separation from God is hell in itself.
If you find yourself defending the notions of sin, hell and God’s judgments, I challenge you to ask yourself this question:
“Is wrath a Christlike characteristic?”
The evil that any one person puts out into the world is proportionate to their own internal suffering. Pity, do not punish. This is what Jesus would have done and it is what God calls us all to do.
Hold no hate in your heart or you hold no space for God.
Chose higher and you shall become higher. Chose lower, and you will remain low. Them who are evil are separate from God and they suffer their separation greatly, which is why they must put suffering out into the world. It is too much for them to contain.
Once we have allowed ourselves to embrace this concept of “pity, don’t punish”…we will have gained a new, more Christlike perspective, and we are one step closer to God. And through the process of becoming more forgiving towards others, we will have become more forgiving towards ourselves, opening the door to further introspection and Self awareness, leading to higher and higher levels of perception…and therefore higher level of consciousness
…and in this way we come to God.
His plan is beautiful in it’s simplicity…
